Background & Mission

South Asian Health Support Programme (SAHSP)

​

     This is a health promotion programme established in 2007 targeting the South Asian ethnic minority community in Hong Kong, particularly for Indians, Nepalese , Pakistanis and other South Asians.

​

Objectives:

  • To improve family and child health through maternal education

  • To promote  prevention of chronic diseases, particularly hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. 

  • To promote healthy lifestyle 

  • To educate, about infectious disease -it preventative measures , injuries - first aid management and healthy habit among South Asian school children

  • To empower South Asian community with health knowledge and raise their self-esteem to take healthy actions 

  • To train health advocate volunteers
